Focus and Scope

"Journal of Logic and Analysis" publishes papers of high quality involving interaction between ideas or techniques from mathematical logic and other areas of mathematics (especially - but not limited to - pure and applied analysis). The journal welcomes

• papers in nonstandard analysis and related areas of applied model theory;
• papers involving interplay between mathematics and logic (including foundational aspects of such interplay);
• mathematical papers using or developing analytical methods having connections to any area of mathematical logic.

"Journal of Logic and Analysis" is intended to be a natural home for papers with an essential interaction between mathematical logic and other areas of mathematics, rather than for papers purely in logic or analysis.

Peer Review Process

In order to maintain the highest possible research standards, papers submitted to Journal of Logic and Analysis will be peer refereed in the usual way, and no attempt will be made to speed up the refereeing process at the cost of quality.

Normally reports from two expert referees will be sought, as the basis for decision by the Editors concerning acceptance.

Publication Frequency

Journal of Logic and Analysis is published as one volume per calendar year, starting with Volume 1(2009).  Papers are numbered sequentially within each volume - for example Volume 1(2009), paper 5.

Papers are published shortly after final acceptance, normally within a month.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides open access to all of it content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Such access is associated with increased readership and increased citation of an author's work. For more information on this approach, see the Public Knowledge Project, which has designed this system to improve the scholarly and public quality of research, and which freely distributes the journal system as well as other software to support the open access publishing of scholarly resources.

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. The LOCKSS system has permission to collect, preserve, and serve this open access Archival Unit.  For more information see here.

Logic and Analysis (Springer journal)

The Journal of Logic and Analysis is a natural successor to Logic and Analysis, published by SpringerWienNewYork and now discontinued. With Springer's permission, we have made the papers published in Logic and Analysis available here.

Review of Papers

Papers published in JLA will be reviewed in Mathematical Reviews (MathSciNet) and Zentralblatt MATH.
